We are excited to share another wonderful update from axlab.

Our paper titled
“Seen but Ignored: Understanding User Disengagement from Emergency Alerts in High-Frequency Contexts — A Case Study of South Korea”
has received the Honorable Mention Award at CHI 2026.

This work investigates why people sometimes see but ignore emergency alerts, particularly in high-frequency alert environments, and explores the psychological and behavioral mechanisms behind alert disengagement.

We are deeply grateful to all collaborators who contributed to this research.
We look forward to sharing our findings with the global HCI community at CHI 2026.

연세대학교 axlab과 서울대학교 HCC Lab이 공동 연구한 논문 “Conversational Argument Search Under Selective Exposure: Strategies for Balanced Perspective Access”가 SIGIR 2025 Short Paper track에 채택되었습니다.

We’re delighted to share that AXLab has secured an additional LBW acceptance at CHI 2025, on top of our four previously accepted full papers. This scenario-based study examines interaction design in conflict situations involving multiple agents. We look forward to seeing you in Yokohama!

axlab에서 진행한 연구가 CHI 2025의 LBW 세션에서 발표될 예정입니다. 멀티에이전트의 갈등상황의 인터랙션 디자인에 관한 주제로, 시나리오 기반의 연구 방법을 활용해 흥미로운 인사이트들을 도출했습니다.

Here is a brief overview of our accepted work:

1) A qualitative study on the adoption of generative AI in broadcast production (in collaboration with SBS)

2) & 3) Experience design for sports and movie viewing using LLM-based agents (in collaboration with HCC lab at Seoul National University)

4) A study on earwear device design (in collaboration with Samsung Electronics)

We’re excited to announce that AXLab’s full paper, “Delivering the Future: Understanding User Perceptions of Delivery Robots,” has been accepted for presentation at CSCW 2024 in San Jose, Costa Rica! Stay tuned for more details, and we look forward to sharing our findings with the HCI community at the conference.

axlab에서 참여한 배달로봇 사용자경험 디자인 연구가 CSCW 2024에 합격했습니다!

Full papers and posters involving members of axlab have been accepted for CHI 2024 in Hawaii. The accepted research covers a wide range of intriguing topics, including persona design for LLM agents and user interactions with them, exploring AI-powered music search methods, AI-based detection technologies to enhance the accessibility of everyday objects, the introduction of generative AI in UX design, and the creation of AI UX guidelines for financial companies.

CHI 2024 호놀룰루에 axlab에서 진행한 세 편의 풀페이퍼와 두 편의 LBW가 합격했습니다. LLM 에이전트의 페르소나 디자인, AI 기반의 음악 검색 인터랙션 디자인, AI를 활용한 접근성(accessibility) 개선 연구 등 다양한 토픽의 연구들이 CHI 2024에서 발표될 예정입니다.

이외에도 신한은행과의 협업으로 진행한 금융권 AI 디자인 가이드 도출 연구, UX 디자인 프로세스와 생성형 AI 결합 연구 등 흥미로운 연구들이 포스터세션을 통해 공유될 예정입니다.

The Graduate School of Information at Yonsei University has launched the 'axlab' as part of its UX track. This new lab will focus on user experience research surrounding various technologies expected to significantly impact our near future, like such as generative AI and and augmented intelligence. We anticipate conducting many exciting and interesting studies in these areas.
